NDT Inspection

CPD Oilwell International provides a comprehensive range of project and operational inspection and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services to clients in the international Oil & Gas Industry.CPD Oilwell NDT personnel are multi disciplined Inspectors, holding current PCN Level 2 qualifications as a minimum.

CPD specialises in Non-Destructive Testing. Our inspectors are qualified to a minimum
of PCN Level 2 in one or more of the following disciplines:
• Magnetic Particle Inspection
• Dye Penetration Inspection
• Liquid Penetration Inspection
• Eddy Current Inspection
• Positive Material Identification
• Ultrasonic Inspection & Testing
• Material Identification & Mechanical Testing
• Radiography Inspection
• Wall Thickness Inspection
• Hardness Testing
• Video Inspection
• Welding Inspection
• Pressure Testing (shop and site)

Blasting & Painting / Coating

CPD offer various methods of surface preparation, including, Abrasive Blasting, using a choice of mediums, steel sand, aluminium oxide, etc, depending on our clients requirements and environmental laws.UHP water and slurry blasting, is a more environmentally friendly, method of surface preparation.Surface paint / coatings, can be applied in various forms by skilled personnel. Application would be performed by spray, brush, roller, etc.

Derrick Inspection

Derrick Inspections are carried out in accordance with API RP 4G, by experienced Inspectors who are fully qualified Industrial Rope Access Technicians.During surveys, CPD Inspectors will fully document andphotograph defective areas / items, with the information, then being entered into a unique derrick inspection data base,which includes area links to defect photographs.

Lifting Equipment Inspection

CPD carry out thorough examination and load test where applicable, of all loose and fixed rigging and lifting equipment, strictly adhering to LOLER 2307 1998 and PUWER, recommendations and procedures.Details of items inspected would be entered into an electronic data base, allowing CPD clients to have a full search facility, throughout the register, showing defects, recertification, acceptable items. A printed copy is also supplied.

Dropped Objects

Utilizing Industrial Rope Access Techniques, CPD Oilwell canperform Dropped Objects Surveys, as per client requirements.Each area, derrick, moon pool, deck cranes, etc, will beindividually reported within a unique DROPS data base, whichwill detail a full inventory of items, which will include thefollowing information:
• Photograph of item
• Description and location of item
• Condition of primary retainer
• Condition of secondary retention
• Criticality of repair
• Recommended action to be taken

Topside Integrity

CPD offer a ‘one stop shop’ solution to topside integrity inspection, from initial inspection and monitoring, through to engineering support, material and personnel supply.

Industrial Rope Acess

CPD can supply fully qualified IRATA rope access personnel. Each technician is multi
disciplined and fluent in rope access techniques, allowing our teams of rope access personnel to access the most extreme areas and complete work scopes in a safe and efficient manner, eliminating the need for scaffolding and cradles.CPD rope access personnel are qualified and proficient in the following disciplines, which, when combined with rope access, can supply our clients with a comprehensive ‘one stop shop’ service:
• Construction, Welding & Fabrication
• Blasting & Painting
• General Inspection: Video, Visual, Photographic
• NDT Inspection
• DROPS
• Derrick Inspection, etc.

Drilling, Hoisting & Lifting Equipment

Inspection of ‘Drill Tools’, which would include, slips, elevators, tongs, etc, would be carried out in accordance with API RP 8B. The following inspection criteria would be followed.
• NDT of Critical Stress Areas
• Dimensional Checks
• Modifications / Repairs
• Damage

A complete register will be supplied in the form of a data base, which would include
photographs, inspection information, serial numbers, etc.
